Mahipar Stars open their account with a six-wicket win

Mahipar Stars earned their first victory of the 2026 Ahmad Shah Abdali first-class competition, beating Maiwand Champions by six wickets in Nangarhar.
The result was built on an exceptional start with the ball. Yamin Ahmadzai took six wickets and Ibrahim Abdulrahimzai added four as Maiwand were dismissed for 71. Mahipar replied with 199, including half-centuries from Riaz Hassan and Mohammad Ishaq.
An unbeaten 110 from Ijaz Ahmadzai helped Maiwand fight back in their second innings, but Mahipar were left needing 96 for victory. They reached the target with four wickets down. Abdulrahimzai was named player of the match after collecting nine wickets across the two innings.
