Naveen-ul-Haq returns for Afghanistan’s India series
Ibrahim Zadran leads the squad as Naveen returns from a shoulder injury.

Naveen-ul-Haq returned to Afghanistan’s T20I squad after recovering from a stress fracture in his right shoulder. The injury had kept him out of the West Indies series and the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup.
The ICC reported that Ibrahim Zadran would lead the side in his first series as full-time T20I captain. Gulbadin Naib also returned, while uncapped wicketkeeper-batter Noor Rahman was selected as a second keeping option.
The announcement scheduled three matches against India at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on 13, 15 and 17 September.
